Questions

Do I need a cookie banner?

AlpiStats does not use cookies, but only measures your audience after your visitors’ consent, in Switzerland as in Europe: the same rules apply to everyone. The AlpiStats banner (identical “Accept” and “Refuse” buttons, a badge to change one’s mind) is shown by default; if your site already has its own consent banner, you can link it to AlpiStats. If a visitor refuses, no AlpiStats audience measurement takes place. Have your situation checked if in doubt.

Do the statistics cover all visitors?

No: only those who have accepted measurement. Refusals, content blockers and technical limits create gaps; the figures are not an exhaustive count of your visits.

Where is the data stored?

Visit data is collected, stored and backed up in Switzerland, with Infomaniak. Payment for the subscription goes through Stripe, which receives no data about your visitors.

Can I keep Google Analytics during the transition?

Yes. Both can run side by side while you compare the figures, and then you remove Google Analytics.
